100 YEARS AGO August 20, 1910 NURSING ASSOCIATION
THE good work carried on by the Nursing Association during the past two years is to be continued, and this will be welcome news to many of the old people who have benefited so much by the kindly ministrations of the nurse.
The adjourned meeting of the purpose of considering the advisability of continuing the Association another year was held and was largely attended. The report of the canvas of the town by the committee of ladies was highly satisfactory - not only in respect to an increased amount of subscriptions, but in the increased number of subscribers. In three districts it was reported there were 50 new subscribers.

THE COWBOY FAN
MISSUS! Can aw go out to see if mi 'oss is olright?
And there, sure enough outside the Regal Cinema at Crowle on Saturday morning, much as Mrs Dick Spivey, wife of the owner, doubted the 11 year old lad who asked the question, was the 'oss - a small pony with a flat cart, parked alongside Mr Spivey's Rolls Royce. The pony was not tethered, and it stood motionless for the two-and-a-half hours of the children's matinee Ride Clear of Diabolo until the 11 year old and three smaller children climbed on the cart and drove away.
The outfit and the children belonged to a drover family camping on the outskirts of the town. "
