Lunacy in action indeed...

Lunacy in action indeed...

WE HAVE already recorded the ability of a member to drive whilst telephoning and colliding, with barely a 'slap on the wrist'. We now have the prospect of grand larceny (theft of public monies in tens of thousands of pounds) being cited as virtually jail avoiding privilege.

The rest of us would have been locked up by now, not drawing salary!

I can suggest another more damaging privilege currently in practice. That's Certification of Criminal Lunacy Privilege, to avoid the charges of espionage needing to be levelled at 'honourable' members for selling out our cherished centuries old sovereignty, selling out our government and legal system to the EEC, encouraging immigration and invasion of our country for foreign benefit, and the latest chestnut of selling coastal RAF Rescue Services and Dover Castle to the French. We have useless expensive wind farms charged to the public for doing nothing, with 70 per cent increases in domestic heating bills. Failure to use existing energy sources for our own country forecasts a return to the Dark Ages. Lunacy in action indeed.

Bernard Page,

West Butterwick.
