TREES have been planted in a Doncaster village as part of an environmental pledge.

Around 200 members of community-based Lions clubs from across the district went to Warmsworth to help plant two blossom trees in the grounds of the Holiday Inn hotel.

It was held as part of an annual district convention for Lions clubs with groups taking part in a worldwide pledge to plant a million trees.

The saplings have been planted alongside a decorative bench in the grounds surrounding Warmsworth Hall, a Grade-II listed building which houses the hotel’s events venue.

Organiser and past district governor Brian Yeoman wanted to thank the hotel for its service in helping to host the event.
