SENIOR citizens from Misterton were treated to a lunch with entertainment at the Methodist Hall last month.

A total of 55 residents took part in the annual event which is organised by a band of around nine volunteers.

One of the organisers, Lorraine Hessel, told the Bells/Advertiser: “A family from Gainsborough who are members of the Salvation Army - a mum, dad, daughter in law and granddaughter - played brass instruments and a flute and entertained for 50 minutes, they were asked for an encore too.

“We get a lovely response and everyone who attends seem to really appreciate the hard work that we do.”
