Thought for the Week by Reverend Timothy Buckley

When I arrive, what sort of wacky things can I buy?
I would never buy wacky gifts for my wife’s birthday. But when it comes to St Valentine’s Day, that’s different. The wackier the better!
Woe betide if either of us forgets a card on 14th February.
We have been devotees of each other for nearly 32 years – and never a Valentine’s Day card missed.
“What a waste of money,” you might say.
“Surely after all those years your wife knows you love her!”
Like The Church of England, tradition is very important in the lives of some of its clergy!
God doesn’t send cards in February.
He sends signs of His love every day.
What are those signs of love? Waking up each day, food to eat, the miracle of the human body, the beauty of nature on The Isle of Axholme to name just a few.
Whether you buy a card for someone you love or not, I hope you will know the love of God not just one day in the year, but every day.
