Car crashed into dyke

A MOTORIST was taken to hospital after a car ended up on its roof in a dyke.
All three emergency services were rushed to the scene of the incident which took place on Sandholme Road between Epworth and Sandtoft on Sunday night.

It is understood the car, a silver Honda Civic, left the road and ended up in the dyke.

Firefighters from Crowle and Scunthorpe helped release the stricken driver and crews administered oxygen prior to the arrival of paramedics.

The casualty was then transferred to Scunthorpe General Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The incident took place shortly before 8.15pm.
