HEALTH bosses at NHS Yorkshire and the Humber are encouraging those who made a healthy New Year's resolution to stick with it.
By February, people are well and truly back in their normal routine and the novelty of sticking to their resolution can, for some people, wear off.
Leading a healthier lifestyle and giving up smoking are among the most popular resolutions and are
things that the NHS can help with.
Regional director for NHS Yorkshire and the Humber, Paul Johnstone, said: "The NHS in Yorkshire and the Humber region is committed to helping people lead healthier lives.
"It is easy to make a resolution to eat a healthier diet, exercise more, drink less alcohol or give up smoking on the first of January. Putting that into practice and making those lifestyle changes permanent can be easier said than done.
"You don't have to do it on your own. The NHS offers a range of advice that can help keep you motivated. The Change4Life website offers practical tips to help you stay healthy and local NHS stop smoking services help thousands of people give up smoking every year."
For Bells/Advertiser readers who are struggling to give up smoking on their own they should contact the local NHS stop smoking service at www.nhs.uk/smokefree or call 0800 022 4 332.
