A GREY day did not deter parents and carers braving the weather to attend the New Year New U event at Misterton Young People's Centre last week.
The three hour session saw visitors receive information from local services which included North Notts College, Misterton Fire Service, Misterton Library, Family Information Service, Job Centre Plus, Health Development Team and many others.

Parents and carers had the chance to receive free beauty treatments provided by Natural Beauty from Misterton, Henna body art from local mum Suneetta Kaur, and a chance to win a spa day for two people at Clumber Park Hotel, also a fitness competition to win day passes for the JJB fitness centre at Gainsborough.

Organisers gave a big thank you to district councillor Liz Yates for providing funding for the event to take place.
