A SECOND CCTV camera is to be installed in the centre of an Isle town which has suffered from antisocial behaviour.
Crowle mayor Nick Culpin has announced the imminent arrival of a second camera in the town after planning permission was finally passed by North Lincolnshire Council.
One camera was installed on the Old Market Tavern site last year but another pla
nned for the Crowle Community Hub - formerly the resource centre - has taken longer to clear the necessary channels.
He added: "It will be installed in the next two to three months, facing from the Hub down the High Street and St Oswald's Church. Hopefully this will alleviate some of the vandalism which has been carried out in recent weeks."
Both cameras form part of a £27,000 scheme which will utilise infra-red 'pan and tilt' cameras and they will be linked to the CCTV centre in Scunthorpe.
The equipment has full audio facilities as well as having the ability to zoom in on incidents.
Regional development agency Yorkshire Forward has provided most of the funding for the crime-fighting deterrent.
Meanwhile The Crowle Market Place Delivery Group is inviting residents to view proposed redevelopment designs for the Market Place at two consultation events this weekend.
Plans can be accessed via an information van which will be located in the Market place itself on Saturday, between 10am and 4pm.
And North Lincolnshire Council will be hosting a stand at Sunday's Crowle Show, also between 10am and 4pm.
