A CHARITY champion who has raised thousands of pounds for her canine chums has received another funding boost.

Trish Field, of Lockwood Bank, Epworth, accepted a £600 cheque from the Scunthorpe-based Monday Fun Bowling Club after they held raffles and donated weekly amounts.

The animal-lover will put the donation towards her favourite worthy cause, Dogs for the Disabled, a charity for whom she has already raised over £8,000.

Last year saw adventurer Trish raise over £3,000 when she conquered the Annapurna region of Nepal, a six day trek which reached heights of 3,210m.

This followed on from her 2009 trip to Peru where she completed the Trek Machu Picchu (4,600m), securing another £5,000 for the same cause.

Trish thanked the bowling club for their donation, adding: “Each year they choose a charity they feel worthy of their donations and I am very lucky to have been chosen by them this year.”

On June 30 and July 1 Trish will join forces with the Belton Army Cadets when she seeks to raise more funds at the Waddington Air Show.
