BREAKING NEWS: Attempted armed robbery in Keadby - shopkeeper sprayed with chemical spray
Police tape
AN ATTEMPTED armed robbery took place at a newsagents on Station Road in Keadby at 5am this morning (Monday January 30).
Three white males entered the newsagents and threatened the shop keeper with a bladed weapon before demanding money.
The shop keeper refused to hand anything over at which point he was incapacitated by one of the suspects who sprayed him with a chemical spray, possibly thought to have been a hand held spray of some kind, which caused him to fall to the ground.
The shop keeper then picked up a piece of wood and got back to his feet at which point the suspects fled the newsagents in a light coloured Mini Cooper.
This vehicle was later found abandoned on Neville Close in Althorpe.
Police are not ruling out the possibility that this incident was linked to a burglary which happened between midnight and 4.50am this morning at an address on Eastfield Road in Epworth.
The suspects forced entry to the address and carried out a search before stealing various items including the keys to a white coloured Mini Cooper which was subsequently stolen as the thieves left the address.
