Crackdown on off-roaders planned

EPWORTH now has its own unofficial off-road, cross-country track for 4x4 cars - but not for long if the town council has anything to do with it.

Vandals have smashed down the fencing and posts at the back of the King's Head Croft car park and tyre tracks have been seen leading up the bank, passed the children's play area and to the rear of St Andrew's Church.

The vandalism was spotted by Councillor Jonathan Whittaker and reported to fellow members at the recent meeting.

Councillors are now looking at replacing the fencing and posts before the land to the back of the car park becomes too rutted with tyre tracks.
