Guess the dog's name and it could be yours
IT does not require walking or feeding and veterinary bills are absolutely zero but for one lucky owner this quirky canine could be won for just £2.
The special 'animatronic' dog - worth 150 - is up for grabs in a draw organised by Epworth housewife Trish Field who next year will be taking part in the challenging Trek Machu Picchu across Peru's Inca Trail.
Reaching altitudes of over 4,000 metres, the four day endurance test is a fundraiser for Dogs for the Disabled, a charity which trains puppies to become assistance dogs and help people lead more independent lives.
To win the furry friend - which obeys six commands and is an interactive toy ideal for children - potential owners simply need to guess the dog's name at 2 per entry.
"It's a beautiful dog which is certainly worth more than 2 and it even comes with its own adoption papers," explained Trish, 57.
"Somebody has got to win it and it will hopefully hit the Christmas market with all the money going to a good cause."
The charity will choose the dog's name before a matching entry is drawn on December 20 and if more than one entrant is correct there will be a subsequent draw.
A winner will then be drawn with consolation prizes going to the runners-up.
Those wishing to enter should submit their guesses at Epworth News on the High Street where the prize dog is to be located.
If nobody guesses correctly all entries will be put into a draw with a random winner chosen.
The grandmother-of-three is currently training for the Inca challenge and Trish - who is paying her own air fares - is already half way towards raising her minimum target of 2,900 in donations for the charity.
"These dogs do make a difference and give people so much confidence," she added.
