Lucy strikes a pose for college
COMPETITION winner Lucy Monaghan.
A TEENAGER has got up close and personal with an animated version of - herself!
South Axholme student Lucy Monaghan (14) recently entered a competition ran by Rotherham College of Arts and Technology (RCAT) in which a cartoon version of entrants appears as a character in an upcoming marketing campaign.
Entrants had to choose an outfit supplied by the college which demonstrated certain curriculum areas.
Lucy posed as an air hostess and was chosen for her flair and enthusiasm during the photoshoot, her photo helping to promote travel and tourism courses at the college.
“I was really shocked when I found out I’d won, I’ve never won anything before in my life,” said Lucy who is studying physics, chemistry and maths and wants to become a dentist.
“I think the cartoon does really look like me, apart from my hair is shorter.”
It was a double celebration for Lucy as she also bagged herself two tickets to see boy band The Wanted.
“I’m really looking forward to the concert as I like The Wanted, I’ll be taking my friend along who also entered the competition,” she added.
Lisa Newman, of RCAT, said: “We chose Lucy as it gave us an opportunity to promote a tourism course and Lucy had the perfect photo to help us do this.”
