Making babies comes natural for Isle woman

THEY don't cry, need changing or feeding and these beautiful babies won't give you a single sleepless night.

After coming across the reborns on ebay there was no going back for one Isle woman as she discovered the delights of creating realistic reborn dolls.

Every doll is hand-crafted from each strand of hair to the tiny fingernails, the realism of the dolls can really take your breath away.

Judy Gray first came across the realistic dolls quite by accident on the internet and has now spent over two years making the life-like creations at her home in Outmill, Althorpe.

"I only spent 10 on my first doll kit and after that I developed, learning how to create skin tones and prepare each process" she added. The dolls have been sold all over the country including a Gracie Rose for a couple in Essex.

Judy's family has supported her hobby and has been "amazed at the progress" that the mother of three has made whilst making the dolls.

She said her favourite part is the painting, being an artist herself she enjoys using the heat set paints and "making the dolls come to life before your eyes". The art form of "reborning" has evolved since it began in 2002, with new ways of bringing the dolls to life being shared between friends, over the internet and courses such as the one Judy attended at Peterborough earlier this year.

"We had a fantastic two days, we learnt and laughed a lot, a really lovely event" she said.

"Its the realism that attracts people, even though dolls can come from the same place or mould, each is completely unique with its own personality".
