'Making choices for the user, not profit'

AN ISLE mum and daughter passionate about producing organic body care products without the use of any harmful or harsh ingredients have launched a fledgling skin care company.

Aromatherapists Gillian and Samantha Burt decided over a year ago to develop their ideas for a new range of moisturisers, creams and lip balms.

After undergoing intensive training and trying out their products on friends, Jinsei Skincare was born last month.

Mum Gillian (49) is originally from Thorne but moved to London before returning back up north and settling at Millers Brook in Belton with husband Tony six years ago.

She told the Bells/Advertiser how the whole thing came about.

"Myself and my daughter Samantha were both trained aromatherapists but we found that we had such sensitive skins that the products that we were buying just weren't helping our skin conditions.

"We looked at buying our own base creams and adding in essential oils and went on a course about basic skincare."

From here the pair started to put together their own recipes for individual skin types and they found they worked well.

"Our friends asked us to do some for them and they were very pleased with the outcome," said Gillian, And that was when we decided to put it out to the public."

The on-line company is based at www.jinsei-skincare.co.uk and the response so far has been encouraging.

Samantha said: "We're dedicated to producing the best quality skin care products making choices for our products based on what is best for the product and the user, not what's best for our pockets.

"We have found even products marketed as natural and organic, often still contained ingredients that could be harmful to the skin and have serious long term effects on the body.

"With this in mind we produced formulations containing only ingredients that are natural. Everything we use comes from vegetable, plant or mineral sources, is certified organic - wherever possible, and provide real results without harming the body or causing the build up of toxins over time."

Furthermore the pair have sourced suppliers who provide sustainable resources, gathered in ethical ways.

Gillian continued: "Originally we set out to create the products for our own use, but became inundated with requests from friends and family and so decided to make our products available to the general public.

"All of our products have been tested prior to production by a loyal army of friends and family who continue to be willing participants for new products that are in the pipeline.

"They have provided us with a wealth of constructive feedback which has enabled us to provide products that we are proud to put our name to."

Among products available are body intensive moisturisers, day moisturisers for different types of skins including oily, dry, sensitive and mature.

"We have about 18 products in all, with lip balms too," explained Gillian.

Customers placing orders can expect to have their product delivered within the week depending on method of payment.
