Minister pays visit to Crowle site

A GOVERNMENT Minister recently paid a visit to Crowle to oversee progress on the £3m redevelopment of the market place.

Last week Isle MP Ian Cawsey invited Kevin Brennan MP to view the site as work nears completion.

It is hoped the revamp - which will include a bistro-style cafe, more parking spaces and improved lighting - will be finished by March.

"Kevin was given a presentation on the background to the work and all the efforts local people have made to contribute," said Mr Cawsey.

Mr Cawsey said it was a good opportunity to show the Minister how Government funding for such schemes was being put to good use.

Mr Brennan said he was pleased to see the regeneration become a reality.

He added: "I was struck by the commitment and enthusiasm for the scheme from all concerned and I hope that when complete it does make a big difference to the area. "
