VIDEO: TOUGH trek for fundraising teens

Waiting for Video...

THREE students from Rawmarsh undertook a gruelling challenge to raise cash for Help for Heroes.

Battling the worst of the winter weather, 16-year olds Liam Bowes, Scott Thomson and Michael Hood conquered the Derbyshire High Peak Challenge - their second sponsored trek to date.

Michael said the climb - up steep banks of snow and through thick fog, had been “cold, tiring, an adrenalin rush and rewarding”.

But already the lads, who are Dearne Valley College students, have raised well over £1000 in sponsorship money.

Wentworth and Dearne MP John Healey congratulated the trio, as he welcomed the lads home with a reception at his Wath constituency office.
