Woman admits two charges in arson attempt

A WOMAN is due to be sentenced next month after admitting two charges in relation to an attempted arson attack.

Margaret Amy Whitehead had previously entered guilty pleas after she was arrested following an incident in Fieldside, Epworth, on January 2.

Lighted paper was pushed through the letterbox of the property and although firefighters were rushed to the scene, the paper was extinguished before any damage was done.

The 24-year-old admitted attempted arson, being reckless as to whether life was endangered, and she also pleaded guilty to a second charge of putting a person in fear of violence by harassment.

Whitehead, of Somerset Road, Doncaster, did not enter a plea on a third charge of attempted arson with intent to endanger life.

Grimsby Crown Court has now received her psychiatric report and she will reappear there, for sentencing, on Friday, July 17.

She was granted conditional bail.
