Doncaster nurses honoured at glitzy national award ceremony

Clinical Lead at Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, Lynne Schuller won the Cavell Nurses’ Trust Innovation in School Nursing Award at the Trust’s annual nursing awards.

Lynne said of the award: “I was amazed and proud to get the award. I work with a brilliant team of school nurses and this recognises all their hard work too.”

The Community Award runner-up prize, sponsored by The National Gardens Scheme, went to Rachel Dalton who is studying a Masters of Nursing Science at The University of Nottingham.

She said: “I feel honoured to have been recognised alongside so many other amazing student nurses and midwives.”

The glitzy ceremony took place in London in front of a packed audience of nurses, midwives and healthcare leaders from around the UK.

Cavell Nurses’ Trust Chairman Simon Knighton said: “The Cavell Nurses’ Trust Awards helps us be here for nurses and midwives, either by supporting them when they face hardship or by celebrating the amazing work that they do every day.”

Cavell Nurses’ Trust gives money and support to nurses, midwives, healthcare assistants and students experiencing financial or personal hardship, often because of illness, domestic abuse, disability, working poverty and older age.
