While the club's supporters have endured a miserable season with the club's relegation to League Two, it was very different eight years ago today as Rovers chalked up the highlight of their footballing fame with victory over Yorkshire rivals Leeds United in the League One play-off final at Wembley.

In front of more than 75,000 fans on May 25, 2008, striker James Hayter clinched the only goal in a tense final which saw Rovers promoted to the Championship, sparking wild scenes inside the stadium and back home in Doncaster where thousands more watched the drama unfold on television.

His 48th minute strike was all it needed to separate the two sides - and we're looking back to that glorious day with some pictorial memories from Wembley.
