Anglers battle against the windy weather

WILD and windy conditions were the order of the day for last Sunday’s open at Fourways Fishery.

Anglers had to contend with a very strong westerly and it was no coincidence that all those taking part in the ‘rover’ draw chose to fish with their backs to the wind.

Fishing off the corner peg 19, Broughton’s Ken East took first place with 6-4 of silver fish, bream and roach.

Joe Goulding had to be content with second place after getting 5-7 off peg 24, fishing the margins for small silvers.

And with 2-1 off peg 22, Epworth’s Dave Pearson was third. Pools not won.
