Determined to dominate

Epworth Colts U12s 4

Messingham Juniors 0

THE last time these teams played was only four weeks ago in driving wind and rain on a cold December day which resulted in the same scoreline again in the Jack Kalson - Barclays Corporate League.

The Colts were to dominate the game from start to finish with their well executed passing game which Messingham struggled to cope with. Wingers Fulwood and Norton played havoc with the Messingham defenders with the midfield dominated and controlled by Webster, Burdett and Jenkinson.

Colts began the scoring, as speedy striker McCormack slammed in the first, soon followed by a perfectly lobbed shot from 25 yards by Richie Burdett who gave the Colts the upperhand making it 2-0.

The Colts defensive line up were well arranged as Brewer, Young, Horsefield and Gillis prevented any serious chances, whilst keeper George Moore handled well any potential shots.

The second half started much the same with the Colts piling on the pressure with a change in line up, introducing Josh Richardson into defence and now with Young up front, with striker Kieran Hazel they provided new creative options, but it was Burdett who was to extend the lead by unleashing yet another powerful strike from long range which the keeper stood no chance of saving.

As the game progressed the Colts looked like scoring a plenty, however the Messingham keeper was having a terrific game, although a goal mouth clearance near to the end of the game led to Frazer Horsefield turning on the spot and firing home a left foot strike from just inside the eighteen yard box making it 4-0.

Colts team: Moore, Gillis, Horsefield, Brewer, Richardson, Young, Fulwood, Webster, Burdett, Jenkinson, Norton, McCormack, Hazel.

Man of the Match: Frazer Horsefield.
