United’s James Exley, Azeem Rafiq and Suleman Saleem each took three wickets as Doncaster were bowled out for 135.

Townsend hit 39 not out for Doncaster but it wasn’t enough.

Saleem made an unbeaten 43 as Phoenix lost only two wickets to chase down Doncaster’s total in 25.2 overs.

Collegiate were indebted to Simon Guy (63) and William Root (45) as they posted 170 all out.

Town opener James Ward, who like Will Street had earlier taken three wickets, hung around in determined fashion for his 34 but the hosts always appeared to be struggling.

Tailender Jack Zuurbier raised hopes with 31 but Doncaster were dismissed 22 runs short.
