Epworth lose out to Scotter

Epworth Colts U10s 0 Scotter Juniors U10s 3

IT WAS Scotter who took control from the off as these two great teams fought it out on the rather boggy Scotter pitch.

Within five minutes of kick off Scotter scored their first goal of the match with a superb corner which left Colts keeper George Moore no chance of saving.

There was some excellent tackling from Will Gillis and great defence work by Daniel Brewer and Cam Young but it was the Scotter boys who had the fire in their bellies and they were determined to take control of the game.

Keeper Moore was kept busy making some superb saves especially a point blank save from a Scotter forward which he sent flying away from the net.

Liam Norton made some excellent runs and was unlucky not to score on several occasions. Fierce runs from Ben Carson, Mitch Fulwood, Jordan Jenkinson, Frazer Horsefield and Bobby Foster could not break down the Scotter defence and the first half ended 1-0.

The second half began with a fine shot from Fulwood which narrowly went wide but it was again the Scotter boys who demanded control and fired in their second goal of the game within the first two minutes.

Another goal was almost on the cards but was well intercepted by Norton.

The Colts boys did not lose heart and continued to fight on with some great passing and defending but it was not to be.

Moore was working hard and blocking most of Scotter's attempts but it was only a matter of time before the fierce Scotter boys hammered home another goal taking the game to a gut wrenching 3-0 win.

Man of the match was well deserved by George Moore
