Golden oldies featured at racecourse

DONCASTER’S horse jumping season continues with a seven-race programme next Wednesday (February 22).

‘Golden Oldies’ take centre-stage in the feature race at Doncaster Racecourse, a Veterans’ Chase supported by 32Red Online Casino – the UK’s premier online casino and gaming company.

This £16,000 contest for ten-year-olds and upwards over three miles, should attract some well-known contenders.

This race last year marked the retirement of Rambling Minster – trained near Saltburn by Keith Reveley and ridden by his son, James – as he bowed out in style, winning by 17 lengths.

Altogether, 32Red sponsor five races on Wednesday, while the opening race – a contest for four-year-old juvenile hurdlers, is supported by The Crown Hotel, Bawtry The Mirror Punters Club and the European Breeders’ Fund combine to support a qualifying race for novice hurdlers in a national series which culminates in a Final next month at Sandown Park.

The giant screen, situated opposite the main stands will enable racegoers to see all of the action. A shuttle bus will be in operation from the railway station.

Doncaster racecourse’s very own free Cheltenham Festival Preview takes place after racing in the Lazarus Stand on Saturday, March 3 – Grimthorpe Chase Day.

Tickets for the four-day Ladbrokes St. Leger Festival in September are now on sale.
