Isle youngsters get bowling with Rovers
ISLE youngsters joined the Doncaster Rovers Football in the Community team to enjoy an evening of ten pin bowling last week.
The children were guests of the Junior Rovers club and met up at the Doncaster Superbowl.
Bella Degnan, a pupil at Westwoodside Primary School, was amongst the 30 or so youngsters taking part in the annual tournament.
Eight-year-old Bella teamed up with Rovers, ex-Leeds United and Scottish defender Martin Woods as part of his 'Woodsy's Whirlwinds' team.
Healthy competition ensued with Rovers striker Waide Fairhurst, goalkeeper Ben Smith, defender Jason Shackell and on loan Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp captaining the other teams.
Bella said she was: "Much better at the real thing," and that it was, "Much more fun than on the Wii!" as she only just missed out on being the highest scoring member of her team.
At the end of the evening there was a short presentation with the 'Waide's Wonders' team coming out as overall winners.
Bella's dad Mark said: "The 30 or so junior members had a rare chance to meet and play along side the Championship players, with an opportunity for photographs and autographs whilst enjoying a great memorable evening."
