Success for rounders team
SOUTH Axholme School's Year 7 rounders team recently achieved success in the Scunthorpe and District Rounders Tournament at St Lawrence.
The girls played six different schools in total and won every match.
After beating the tournament favourites Fred Gough in the semi-final, South Axholme then went on to beat local rivals North Axholme 7- 4.5 in the final.
A school spokesman said: "The girls displayed a tremendous overall team performance throughout the day and thoroughly deserved their win. Well done."
Congratulations also go to Year 8, 9 and 10 rounders teams for reaching the Scunthorpe and District Schools Finals last Tuesday night.
Spokesman added: "All three teams were fantastic and the Year 9's came away with the winning trophy."
