Tough match was decided by penalty in 80th minute penalt

JOINT leaders in Division One prior to Sunday's match, MUSC and Friendship FC played out a tough match which was decided by an 80th minute penalty scored by Friendship's Andrew McQuillam.

MUSC were diappointed by the outcome particularly as they had to play 80 minutes of the game with 10 men following a sending off.

The other two teams in the top four, Flying Scotsman and Ranby Rangers, clashed at Ranby with Scotsman running out 7-2 winners, their sixth consecutive victory.

Friendship and Flying Scotsman have yet to meet in league games, and in addition Scotman have also to play MUSC twice and Friendship have the return game so in the next few weeks there is everything to play for.

In Division Two Hatfield Woodhouse WMC returned to action after a very long lay-off but it was business as usual as they retained top spot with an 8-0 hamnmering of White Hart United.

Second-placed Kings Arms had to fight hard in the first half of their match against Friendship Old Boys and at half-time they led by a single goal.

But it was a different story in the second half and they eventually ran out 7-0 winners.

After last week's disastrous result against Sherwood Rangers Division Three leaders Kings Arms Reserves returned to winning ways way to Sun Inn Everton, but it was far from easy for them as they won by the only goal of the game scored after 87 minutes.

Leverton United were not at their best against an improving FC Babworth Road but nevertheless were 5-1 winners.

Beckett Arms were looking good against Elkesley when they were 3-0 up at one stage, but they threw this advantage away and lost the game 5-4.

In Division Four Friendship Over 35s had a huge 12-3 win over Stanwood Engineeringwho never stopped trying.

Scorers for the Division Four leaders were Pete Lytollis (five), Neil Farrow (two), Carl Johnson (two), Michael Street (two) and Philly Robinson.

Friendship now require just eight more points to claim the Division Four championship.

Rose and Crown moved into second place following a 4-2 victory over Ship Inn United.

Vine Inn United have reached the Notts Minor Cup semi-finals after they won the all-Retford derby quarter-final against White Lion 2-1.

Unfortunately Mattersey will not be joining them as they were beaten 2-0 byR and K FC of the Mansfield League.
