AFTER three successive games were postponed due to the poor weather, Crowle's return to action ended with a real pasting.
However, few people would have predicted at half-time that Keys would collapse like a house of cards in a stiff breeze.
Fender Talbot dominated the first half and twice went ahead, only for Crowle to equalize.
Keys went behind to an early goal when Fender's constantly lively forwards played through the defence and shot past Graeme Fletcher.
After another 10 minutes of disciplined defending Keys eventually found themselves in Fender's half and drew level when Mark Fletcher intercepted a scuffed clearance from the goalkeeper and rolled the ball into the goal.
It wasn't long before the visitors regained the lead through a cross shot which found the bottom corner.
Crowle's rare attacks tended to feature right-winger Scott Buttrick, who managed to hit the post with a long-range lob and was brought down in the area for a penalty. The ensuing spot kick was coolly converted by Daniel Harrison.
The fact that the teams were level at half-time was due in no small part to the resolute performances of centre-back Matthew Mellers and goalkeeper Graeme Fletcher. The keeper saved his best effort until the 45th minute to spare the blushes of Gareth Parkin, whose misdirected clearance was turned round the post when an own goal seemed certain.
In the second half the ball spent even less time in Fender's half, as they extended their lead with depressing efficiency until they had inflicted Keys' heaviest defeat since they moved back into the Scunthorpe League.
Keys next game is on Sunday when they travel to Scunthorpe to face Fender Talbot again.
