Non stop music at Belles shows
THE French Collection No 65: For several years in the 1970s, the Epworth Belles concert group played to packed houses at South Axholme Comprehensive School. Their shows were full of non-stop music, dance and comedy, featuring young women from around the area. Mavis Hoole is pictured sucking her finger following a dip into the bowl she is holding.This photograph is one of thousands taken by Derrick French during more than a decade as Bells Editor in the ‘70s and ‘80s, and as such forms part of a unique social history of Isle life.
